The Final DreamPort Advertisement

The task for this project was to create a Trompe-l’œil advertisement for a figtional virtual reality company that is advertising pre orders for their new dreamer headset 2000. The goal was to share my own unique interpretation of depicting virtual reality
Below I will highlight my design process of how I create a project start to finish.
My creative process begins with brainstorming a range of ideas and interpretations for the project. Once I’ve narrowed down a concept, I conduct in-depth research on the topic, target audience, and existing competitor designs. This research helps ground my approach in relevance and originality.
Next, I compile an inspiration board to visually guide the direction of the project. This board serves as a springboard for the sketching phase, helping me translate ideas into concrete design elements.

Once the sketching phase is complete, I review all drafts to determine which visuals best align with the concept. I finalize the strongest sketches and carefully select which elements to include in the project, removing anything that doesn’t support the overall vision or effectiveness of the design.
The first draft serves as a presentation piece to gather feedback on what to add or change. In this case, both designs were rejected. While the core concept was strong, the use of color and grunge textures conflicted with the clean, minimalist approach I originally intended. This feedback helped guide the next phase of refinement.
After reviewing the initial drafts, I gathered additional feedback and returned to reshoot the main image. A crucial part of this stage was revisiting the final concept outlined during my initial research and brainstorming. This helped ground the project in its original vision.
Referencing my final sketch and initial concept throughout the process ensured I stayed aligned with the project's goals—and ultimately led to the creation of the finalized poster.
